Vocational Education and Training (VET)

Our website is soon to be redesigned to reflect significant developments and new directions at Seaton High School. For up-to-date information about Curriculum, please refer to:
Curriculum Handbook 2022
Information Handbook 2022

VET refers to national vocational qualifications that are endorsed by industry. Students with VET qualifications are well prepared to take on apprenticeships, further training and skilled jobs.

At Seaton we offer three VET Courses as a part of the Western Adelaide Regional VET Program.

Electrotechnology: Certificate I & II in Electrical

This program is an excellent option for students interested in a career related to any aspect of the electrotechnology industry. It is delivered in collaboration with TAFE. It is a mix of school based practical and theory, with work experience supporting electrical, refrigeration, electronics and air-conditioning companies.

Plumbing: Certificate in Construction - Plumbing

This course has been designed with the Master Plumbers Association of South Australia Incorporated and is aimed at students seeking a career as a plumber. The course is a mix of practical work, school based theory, industry visits and work experience.

Plumbing Plus: Certificate III Roof Plumbing (Partial)

This course aims to build on the skills gained in Certificate I Plumbing Course and enhance the students' opportunities of gaining an Apprenticeship.

In addition to these programs, Seaton students may also access a wide range of regional VET programs offered by schools in the Western Adelaide region

Students participating in VET programs may be offered support in their other subjects through the Flexicentre.
