Seaton High School offers the opportunity for students to study baseball as part of a comprehensive high school education package. Students study baseball as a subject during the school day.
Baseball is offered in years 8 - 12 and there are currently 120 students in the program. The course involves all aspects of baseball delivered in both theory and practical settings, and includes instruction in playing and training techniques, nutrition, sports psychology, scoring, coaching, sports medicine and physiology.
Seaton teams, known as the Seaton Sharks, boast an unparalleled record in both State and National Competitions with 23 State and 7 National Titles since the inception of the program in 1994. Seaton is currently ranked the number one high school team in Australia in all three age group categories. The on field success is matched by an impressive list of coaching staff including numerous international guest coaches and a program manager with over 20 years experience in working with elite baseball players.
Seaton High School's baseball facilities are the best in any school program in Australia. 5 South Australian Baseball League Division One teams all choose Seaton as their winter/summer training venue. Seaton has indoor nets complete with pitching machines, permanent video cameras linked with slow motion analysis software for analysing techniques, a fully equipped gymnasium, along with a fenced main diamond, outside batting tunnels and bull pens for 6 pitchers. It is no wonder Seaton is the envy of all schools in Australia.
Students travel from all over Australia to join the Seaton High School Baseball Program. Several international students have successfully completed our program; they have enjoyed great success in both improving the quality of their playing ability and experiencing a positive learning experience across the whole school.
